For over 15 years now Jalapeno Records has housed some of the finest independent Funk, Soul and Dance acts around and over that period the label has released some stellar tracks and in particular – toplines.
This is why it makes perfect sense to release a collection of the vocal riches in the vaults, as a set of tools for DJs to have fun with. Jalapellas sees our Jalapeno artists: ephemerals, Smoove & Turrell, Alexia Coley and Izo FitzRoy joined by some amazing guest vocalists such as Kylie Auldist (The Bamboos, Kungs), Mystro (Junior Reid, De La Soul), Tasita D’Mour and Greg Blackman (DJ Vadim, Nightmares On Wax) to name a few.
This versatile collection features both male and female vocalists and spans multiple musical styles, keys and tempos to allow for maximum creativity. So why not give it a go in your next DJ set and throw in some Jalapeno flavour with your favourite instrumentals?
