Goldilocks demonstrates the versatility of Lindo Man’s sound, with a downtempo, thought-inducing vibe, that’s nostalgic yet still contemporary. On the remix tip, it’s given the hands up in the air treatment by Serum – a veteran on esteemed D&B labels such as V Recordings, Philly Blunt, Playaz, Shogun and Dread. Mad Dem featuring Parly B, was a highlight on his first EP so revisiting it was a must. Brazilian future bass specialist Cybass was keen to step in and give it a more stripped down reese bass-driven flavour delivered on a laid back hip hop groove.
In a post dubstep/trap era, Lindo emotive, forward thinking grooves are full of catchy melodies and vocals - all neatly consolidated by solid basslines. It’s quite clear that when you listen to his sound, it’s underpinned by the stirring attributes of truly soulful electronic music. Whether he’s mixing uplifting riffs and high energy broken beats with ragga vocals or laying down a moody swing with a deep bassline, there’s something here for every taste and mood.
